" Nearest sites: 7.5km away from the Villa is the Mycenaean tombs of Mazarakata dating back to 1700 BC, St George’s castle (7km) dating back to the Byzantine times the old fort has got a lot to offer for its history and the stunning view of Leivathos valley as it is built on one of the highest hills of municipality of Leivathous. 36km away the 20,000 years old lake/cave of Melissani, also named as the ‘blue lake’ due to its breathtaking beautiful color when sun is situated directly above the lake, is the unique phenomenon in the world where water travels underground uphill (!!) from the eastern part of the island and pours in Melissani cave and Karavomilos lake.
The museum of natural history can be found in Davgata village (26km) and the archeological museum of Argostoli is 14km way situated in the heart of the capital of the island.
