At the entrance to Somme Bay
Paris is 200 km away on the A 16. We are half way between Dieppe, Le Trepot, and Le Touquet.
Eastwards the bay extends to Cayeax, while to the west it reaches Saint-Quentine. Crecy forest limits the bay the south. Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme and Crotoy lie at its heart. This remains one of the wildest places in France being an important post for migratory birds and a peaceful haven for seals. The beauty here is in the landscapes and the glorious light. A sought after destination for nature lovers, the entire coastline has long been an unspoilt area. Depending on your likes, you can hike, go horse riding on the beach (Henneson, a typical breed in the region), go biking; the whole bay is accessible with bike trails. There are guided walks, visits to Marquenterre Park where you can see rare birds, not to mention the many events such as the St-Riquier music festival, Transbaie (interactive information site in the region), the tourist steam train, and more besides.
