This apartment is fantastic, in a great neighborhood just steps from the Termini Station. It has everything you need for a great stay, including a great host, Francesco, who made the process very easy. In addition, his colleague Giampaolo went above and beyond to help us with some problems with lost tickets sent overnight from the US. We would gladly stay in this apartment again and recommend it without hesitation!
This was perhaps our best stay in Europe. The location is ideal - so close to Termini and we were traveling by train, metro, hop on/hop off and walking...it was perfect for all.
We were met by Francesco's friend, Giampaolo, and he was so very kind and helpful. We even forgot some of our train tickets at home. Yikes! We had them mailed overnight, and Giampaolo graciously received them and dropped them off to us. He really took care of us in a tight spot. Such a lifesaver!!!
Again, such a great stay - well situated for our group of 2 adults/4 kids. It was well supplied with all that we needed. Shopping and transportation are close. Absolutely ideal!
Thank you so much, Francesco and Giampaolo, we are so very grateful for your tremendous hospitality. Ciao arrivederci!
The unit was basic, spacious and in a fantastic location for those traveling to and from Termini. There were a few issues that did not ruin our stay, but are easy things to fix. First of all, between the time difference, language barrior and the fact that we were staying at the apartment at the end of a 2 week cruise (minimal internet access), coordinating the details was a challenge. However, once everything was agreed upon Francesco was reliable and punctual. I received a few emails in Italian regarding the payment schedule, but these (I think) were automatically generated and when I asked what they were about he reassured me that nothing had changed.
For the location the price was fair for the 4 of us (MUCH better than booking a hotel) and the location was amazing. Between the 4 of us (including 2 seniors) we had quite a bit of luggage and pulling it the short distance to the hotel was not a problem. When we left Rome, the Airport bus was a block away (on the same side of Termini as the hotel) making things extremely convenient.
The unit was not exactly as advertised though. However, for our 2 night stay we managed just fine. There was no sitting area as the pictures show. From the main hallway there are 3 bedrooms (all with AC/Heat, large comfortable bed and wardrobes/dressers). I suspect one of those bedrooms at one time was a sitting room. The kitchen is small but has everything one needs. The 4 of us had coffee in the mornings and that was about it. Trying to cook for more than one or two people might be tricky, but why would you cook when delicious (and cheap) food is literally downstairs!
Our biggest problem was with the AC units. They leaked. Badly. We cleaned up the water and kept the windows open. Not vacation-wrecking, but frustrating when we're tired from travel and sightseeing to come back to puddles of water all over the floor. Also, the door was VERY tricky to unlock. There is a trick to doing it, and we spent a long time each evening trying to get into the unit. Again, not ideal after a long day. The master bath was fine (tiny, but for Rome it was super), but the second bathroom was essentially useless for a shower. Both shower heads did not sit securely in the holders and sprayed water all over (had to tie one to the holder).
Not sure if I'd stay here again for more than a night or two, but it did the trick!
The apartment was very convenient, comfortable and the host was very helpful and accessible. It was perfect for our group of 7. Much better than a hotel.
