The reservation system over the phone was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful.Unit 801 at Sand Castles I was very clean and well stocked. We read that the owner had renovated in 2009 which made it look great. There were a couple minor issues on arrival but the maintenance man came promptly to fix them. The unit could use some touch up on the doors and moldings, they are showing signs of wear after 15 years. The dishwasher door opens beyond horizontal making it necessary to grab the lower tray so it doesn’t slide off.The kitchen could use a few pieces of mircowave cookware.The location is convenient and very quiet. We enjoyed the beach and the pool. The new sand mounds on the beach made it challenging for two older folks but we understand the reason.As with almost every complex we have stayed at the pool area does not have enough seating. This is mostly due to families “reserving” chairs as soon as the sun comes up. The signs say not to do that but it’s done anyway. Unfortunately there is no one there to police that. It is what it is.The issues we mentioned would not prevent us from returning.
