Lovely location

The kitchen was the most well-equipped kitchen we’ve ever experienced in our travels. Sitting on the deck in the evenings was a joy. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were spacious with plenty of storage. The owner was very responsive and kept us updated on a repair issue she was dealing with. It didn’t impact our stay. We really enjoyed walking the trail to the beach. We’re in our 70’s and had no problem getting there but some who have limited mobility may find it challenging. The only downside was the laundry soap and dryer sheets used for linens. They were heavily perfumed, making the bedding stink of perfumes. It caused allergy problems. We all brought a pillow but our pillowcases still smelled of perfume after washing them when we got home. We highly recommend the owner use unscented laundry soap and wool dryer balls instead of perfumed dryer sheets. Perfumed dryer sheets are a known asthma trigger in children. If it weren’t for that, we would have given our stay 5 stars. Everything else was great.

Lovely comfortable stay

Our family of 3 generations stayed. The house is very well laid out, comfortable, and made for year around beach life. There are lots of windows and light and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The location is wonderful - a nice walking distance to a quiet beach but not too far from the wild metropolis of Ocean Shores. The kids 3, 4 and 8 liked the daily deer visits and the trail through the dunes to the beach, the flat open sandy beach, and all the special kid friendly items. We liked that the noisy part of the family could be on the first floor while we were in the 3rd floor main bedroom admiring the view from our arm chairs and watching and listening to the ocean. The owner is very nice and responsive. There is a foot bridge crossing over a tidal slew which I noticed some disabled folks avoided (though most of the trail is sandy and flat). Also the house has a lot of tiled stairs, so these could pose an access issue for some. There are nearby driveable access points to the beach, but they are less private.

Long walk to beach

The house is incredible! Three stories worked beautifully because there was a huge bedroom on all three floors and two decks. We loved the wall of windows, as well. The reason I took a star off was it was a bit of a walk to the beach, and I’m getting old and stiff. But once you’re on the beach, it’s beautiful. So peaceful. And nobody was on the beach and we could let our dogs run free. Another irritant was the house was pretty close to the house next to it, and little kids kept staring at us through their window. Overall we had a wonderful time!
