A family of 6 adults & 5 children meeting up for a Christmas reunion, staying for a week in December.
Lovely location, some small issues took the edge off.
Hot Tub not working. Sean tried to talk us through fixing it, but couldn't get it to heat so was stone cold for the whole week. Allison has compensated adequately to be honest, but a hot tub on the balcony in winter at a stunning lakeside house is the biggest single draw, so this was a let down.
The room accommodation was a bit of a squeeze for us. The 5th Bedroom with the sauna does not really look/feel like a bedroom, and the top bunk is almost unusable due to close proximity of the rooms only air heater.
Having to make all beds on arrival was an unexpected chore.
Downstairs bathroom had a bad problem. Toilet not flushing seemed to connect with bath/shower not draining, and resulted in waste coming up into the bath. Sean advised that this was probably a result of some persistent rainfall. It did clear after a couple of days, but meant that all 6 of those who were sleeping downstairs had to use the 2 upstairs bathrooms for a few days.
Only 11 towels for 11 people was a little difficult to manage, and heating was difficult to control. Some chairs in bedrooms might be nice, and also some lighting difficulties as some rooms only have bedside lights, meaning that on entering a room it can be dark, unless lamps left on all day.
Many positives and still a lovely house in a great location so we still rate this rental highly.
