Thanks Khun Yai for a great apartment, I booked and stayed for 38 nights at very short notice, I was met at the apartment by Khun Yai as promised, there was no having to hang around for someone to show up or having to make endless calls to see where the key holder was, one quick call from the airport was all it took.
The apartment is very clean and there is a great cleaner who not only speaks very good English but also is very good fun and also very helpful.
The rate I paid was very reasonable considering it was almost Songkran when I arrived and was payment was arranged very easily
The location of the apartment might put some people off as it is just over 1 kilometre from the night market, there are songtaew`s and tuk tuks (which are great fun) going up and down Chang Klan Rd at all hours so it is pretty easy to get a ride into town, although if you are going into town twice a day it would become a little expensive, cheapest and best way to get around is to rent a motorbike for the period of your stay, but PLEASE DO NOT hire a bike if you have never ridden one before, Thailand is definitely not the place to learn to ride.
The apartment itself has a light open plan feel to it, the first thing that strikes you on entering the room is the size of the flat screen tv a whopping 60" even Mr Magoo could watch this with no problem (probably from a mile away lol) there is also a dvd player and strangely a second tv in the room there is a fridge freezer that is very useful and like everything else in the apartment it looks almost brand new, there are two electric cooking rings and microwave should you feel the need to cook your own food, but why anyone would want to with so many fine places to eat in Chiang Mai, The bed is pretty comfortable with a built in wardrobe in the bedroom there is also a small balcony which overlooks the mountain and the city, so overall an excellent place to stay,
Sadly all good places have small faults and this is no different, I hate mention anything negative as the place is so good so I say this because from what I have seen of how Khun Yai operates when she or her husband reads this they will act on it, making this an incredible place to let, so the only problem I found was that the apartment and the one next door were originally a single two bed apartment (which I believe can still be rented as such) and the adjoining door remains, which for me is the problem with this room as the door is very thin and offers no sound...
