The apartment was very nicely appointed and very convenient for walking to the historic centre. A few niggles though about the apartment: there were too many light bulbs that needed replacing especially in the 'gymnasium' which was the only place to store clothes and do laundry. We could have done with more than 5 cups and 4 mugs especially as there was a dish-washer and as the specification made a point about dining on comfy seating for 6 people. The kitchen has only one power point which meant a great deal of juggling between kettle, the toaster and the micro-wave. The bidet leaked. The third bedroom has a lethal step unmarked in the darkest part of the room. This is a very dangerous hazard and could easily result in serious personal injury; a priority for the owner to address. Not that we needed it but there is no wheelchair access to the apartment. Split is a great place to visit with much of historic interest. There are plenty of good museums; we enjoyed especially the Mestrovic Gallery and near-by Kastelet. The are plenty of boat trips to the islands and local excursions to other inland places including Klis, Salona and the beautiful little town of Trogir. Our agent Tatijana suggested 2 or 3 excellent restaurants. There is a good small super-market conveniently nearby. The Croatians were delightful, kind and helpful. A lovely country.
