incredible Villa Royale

The villa was exactly as described. It was easy to communicate with the property manager who met us at check in and walked us through the entire house. Everything in the house was working as expected. There were some nice surprises like a Miele Espresso machine and a separate ice maker. We will book it again for our next trip.

No AC in common areas

This is my third visit to Aruba and my least favorite. This property is in a great location but I would not stay here again. It needs some MAJOR upgrades. It is not ascetically pleasing for the price it cost. The is NO AC in the common areas only units in the bedrooms. There should be at least really nice large fans through but there were only small two small cheap fans. One unit went out almost every night of our 5 night stay. Another one twice during our stay. The owner did send someone each time to fix it. The sheets on the beds need to be replaced and not just washed. The queen beds are not really beds but two twin size mattresses but together. They kept spreading apart. The rooms overall were just okay. Again not worth the price. The pool needed to be deep cleaned. Several doors were broken in the house. One of the refrigerators needed to be placed. The owner was very nice but that did not make up for the not being as described. Two rooms had a terrible odor on and off like the septic tank needed to be emptied.

Outstanding pool and spacious. Not handicapped friendly/only air conditioning in bedrooms

The home was spacious with a wonderful pool. However we were promised a tour upon arrival by a concierge we never seen . The concierge did assist with having making some of our arrangements but we learned was not even in the country. There were two rooms that you had to go outside to get to the rest of the home. The home was hot and we quickly learned there was only air conditioning in bedrooms. The only screened windows were in the kitchen Because we had two toddlers with us we could not leave unscreened doors open. We had twenty people in our group which included one handicapped senior whom we had difficulty getting to her room and she could not easily come to the rest of home which had stairs access so renting a wheelchair would not have helped. One great part of home was the pool area which had a great grill and fire pit. Jacuzzi, kid pool and large pool. Our group did enjoy the use of this area. We also learned the queen size beds were two single cots in a queen frame and king beds were two double cots in a king frame. One refrigerator was broken. Home is not close enough to water to walk to. Home has a gorgeous view and you can see a lot due to the location. Would recommend you rent a vehicle if you stay here. If I return to Aruba would not stay in this home again due to the many issues. I also feel for the money spent some of these issues, especially beds and air conditioning should not have existed

Very happy with my stay at villa royal aruba

Great place to stay for a group vacation or family reunion. Plenty of rooms, and luxuries. The pool and hot tub are amazing especially at night when they are lit up.

Beautiful house!

We celebrated a 70th birthday with 11 adults and 4 children and the house still felt quite spacious. We used Barbulet Concierge and the Owner (Freya was her name) was spectacular. She made our stay so easy - from food shopping before we arrived, making restaurant suggestions and reservations, arranging transportation and car rental (she had our driver pick us up at the airport and drive us to the car rental facility and met us there. Then she escorted us to the house, crib rental, etc.). She also arranged for two different chefs to make meals for us at the house. The food was delicious - as good if not better than dinners at the restaurants we frequented. They shop, cook, set up and clean. The waiter (AJ) was a doll and very experienced. Both dinners were fabulous! The house has 9 baths but only 2 or 3 of the baths actually had hot water in the shower. None of the bathroom sinks have hot water and that is not because something wasn't working. It appears the hot water valve on the sinks was turned off purposefully. The ground water in Aruba never gets cold so the lack of hot water in the sinks wasn't a big deal but it would have been nice to have. We spoke to the house Owner (Rene) about the showers and he was very responsive but was unable to make any changes or corrections to the hot water system during our stay. Besides the hot water in the shower issue, I thought there could have been some basic provisions provided by the Owner that are not - hair dryers in each bathroom, bar soap (they provide liquid soap that foams when you pump it - doesn't work great in a shower!), ample supply of dishwashing detergent, paper towels, tissues, toilet paper. We had all of these supplied but inadequate quantities. I felt like I had to ration the use of the dishwashing detergent and we had to purchase additional tissues, paper towels, etc. At the cost of this house, there should be an abundance of these basic supplies. I would go so far as to say there should be bug spray (the "no see'ums can be a pain) and some hotel sized shampoo/conditioner/lotion at least a two day supply just in case guests forgot to bring it. There is a Mart just down the hill from the house that was open from early morning to late at night and had everything we needed (including spirits, wine and beer). All in, it was a great house, wonderful experience and would recommend checking it out if you have a large crowd. And definitely contact Freya at Barbulet Concierge!
