Peaceful Getaway

We have stayed here before and this time it was even better. Good communication with the property manager and the pool was clean, the hot tub heated up quick and there was plenty of rooms and beds. The bathtubs hot water doesn't work but the shower did, but other than that everything was good and stocked well. We love how the house is further away and has privacy and a beautiful view. We will definitely be back.

Terrible Experience

Our stay was not pleasant in the slightest. It was very clear that the owner does not keep up with the property, from the furniture to the exterior of the house. The pool was filled with algae and extremely dirty. The pool area was littered with trash and full of bees and their hive, the stone edge on the pool itself was chipped and broken. The property manager, Aaron, mentioned they were just water bees that meant no harm, but one of our guests was stung. The outdoor patio floor was covered in fire ants. The patio table was filthy and most of the chairs had no cushions, just small rubber slats to sit on, and the lounge chairs were broken. The main suite’s sheets were stained. Air vents were full of dust. The back door was broken and cracked around the lock. The bathroom had stains on the ceiling, ant traps, toilet seat was broken, towel hooks broken, water pressure was virtually non existent in the shower. The living room couch was stained and very worn. The kitchen was full of dirty pots and pans, the drawers, cabinets, and fridge did not shut all the way. The faucet was broken. The sliding door in the den downstairs was broken. All of the blinds in the house were unmovable. The WiFi did not work. Please don’t waste your money here.

Awesome site that needs lots of Maintenance

This is an amazing site located high in hills on the eastern side of Desert Hot Springs. The views of the area and access to local trails are un-matched. The property manager(Mindy) was extremely responsive. Unfortunately, we had to reach out to her several times for bigger issues. These issues included the locks not working during check-in, not being able to lock the doors when leaving and the hot water on the Master Suite side not working. Again, Mindy was very responsive and helped resolve the issues. There were smaller issues with the dishwasher not working well, the dryer door not staying shut, hot water taking a long time in the Master Suite (once the pilot light was started), needing to contact Mindy to turn switch between hot water on the hot tub heat vs the pool heat, drawers in the kitchen not staying shut, the grill only getting to 300 degree and more. In my opinion the property needs a lot of TLC and/or a make over/refresh of appliances, cabinets and furniture.

Most terrible experience with a vacation rental! BEWARE - DIRTY, FOUL HOUSE!

My family and I booked this house for Memorial Day weekend, and it was probably the worst experience we have ever had with a rental. This rental is listed as an upscale desert retreat, which is a complete exaggeration. We were all looking forward to having a nice getaway and the kids were excited and looking forward to using the pool. The moment we stepped in; our hearts just dropped in disappointment. I have no idea how this rental can be rated over 4 stars (notice they only have 35 reviews, most of which are not recent). I would rate it 2 stars, at the very highest. Even the kids noticed how dirty and smelly the house was! If we all were not coming from out of town (some coming from out of state), we would have left once we got there! The issues we experienced were: 1. The master /bedroom 1 was listed as having a sleep sofa/futon which was not accurate. It was a chaise lounger and not suitable to be used to sleep on. 2. The king bed in the master/bedroom 1 had red, blood-like stains on the comforter. 3. The den/bedroom was listed as having 2 (queen and full) sleeper sofa/futon, but there was only one sofa pull-out which was so dirty and disgusting we had to just sleep on the sofa instead. Picture and caption in listing states “Den/Bedroom with Queen and Full Sleeper Sofas.” 4. The odor in the house was so strong and unpleasant. We tried opening windows and doors, which could not even help in alleviating the stench. It made it very difficult to sleep at night as the smell was so overwhelming. 5. The water pressure throughout the house was terrible. No one wanted to take a shower as it barely trickled out and made rinsing out shampoo/soap very time consuming 6. The couch in the main family/living area was extremely worn and smelly. There was a section of the couch that we could not differentiate it between being extremely worn out or just plain dirty. 7. The bathroom in the lower level had no shower door so that made showring in there very inconvenient (picture in listing shows that there is one there). 8. The appliances in the kitchen were extremely dirty with oil stains and other residue stains on it. We had to throw some of the provided plates and utensils in the dishwasher and ran the cleaning cycle TWICE just to feel comfortable enough to use. 9. The refrigerator had a leak, and the smell coming from it was unbearable. 10. There was a constant, low ringing sound that we could not figure out where it was coming from. 11. The back
