Farthings Nest offre un'ottima base di vacanza per coloro che desiderano esplorare questa parte del North Devon. La dependance si trova a mezzo miglio sulla collina dalla principale via principale di Ilfracombe, con la sua ampia

scelta di ristoranti, pub, caffè e negozi, il porto e altre attrazioni della città sono appena oltre questo. Un viaggio in auto sarà d'obbligo per chi cerca paesaggi costieri spettacolari,

spiagge sabbiose, insenature robuste e passeggiate ispiratrici costiere ed Exmoor. La dependance al piano terra è stata completata ad un alto livello nel luglio 2014 e la sua posizione elevata offre giardino

viste attraverso la città e la costa verso il National Trust Torrs. Una breve passeggiata a livello attraverso il cancello del giardino ti porta all'ingresso privato. All'interno si sente calmo e accogliente con a

tema costiero in tutto. Un breve corridoio fuori dalla zona giorno principale conduce alla camera da letto e dietro l'angolo si trova il bagno su due livelli molto spazioso. C'è anche un armadio

fornito. Una parte del giardino direttamente davanti alla finestra del soggiorno è riservata agli ospiti. Qui puoi rilassarti e goderti un bicchiere di vino al sole e pianificare l'avventura del tuo prossimo giorno, in giro per questa bellissima parte del Devon.

Heel schoon, netjes en veel attentie.

Nog nooit zo'n schoon, netjes en tot de puntjes in orde een appartement gehuurd. Alle mogelijke keukengerei en ook basisingrediënten waren aanwezig. Plus een picknickmand vol lekkernijen. Heel plezierig ruim verblijf van alle gemakken voorzien. Zoals je het thuis ook wilt hebben.

Excellent accomodation

The apartment was warm and inviting when we arrived on a very cold. We were greeted with a lovely hamper which included a cream tea and a lovely vase of flowers. It is very modern and very well equipped for self catering. The area was very quiet and peaceful and there were lovely sea views from the apartment. Sonia gave us a lovely warm welcome and was very friendly.

Wow, what can i say about our stay apart from it was absolutely fantastic. The property was lovely and so relaxing. The views were breathtaking overlooking the sea from the living room and the bedroom as well as the patio. The bathroom was absolutely huge and clean. The bed was one of the comfiest we have slept in. Communication was quick and helpful with Steph, all in all it was a great week in a 5 star accommodation. We will be back next March.

Anniversary Get away

The property was clean, well equipped and up to date. The Garden had a nice sun trap patio with seating . The Views from the lounge and garden were stunning. A lovely welcome from the owners on arrival, who provided a welcoming pack with tea, coffee and scones, cream and Jam. ( Delicious) We had beautiful weather too.

An amazing place to stay

Farthings Nest is a very clean, well kept property . We were greeted on arrival by Steph , and found fresh cut flowers and a delightful welcome basket. The property is beautifully furnished throughout, with a comfortable bed , excellent bath and shower facilities, a very nice kitchen come diner , with lovely sea views from the two sofas . The property is exceptionally clean and you can smell this as you walk in the door . There’s also a parking area and a lovely garden area overlooking the sea , with table and chairs and sun lounges provided . We would have no hesitation in returning to Farthings Nest , Mick and Steph were wonderful hosts .

No need to use the car as there are a number of attractions within walking distance including the award-winning Ilfracombe Aquarium, the unique Tunnels Beaches, fascinating Ilfracombe Museum, Larkstone Leisure Park, Hele Cornmill and Chambercombe Manor, one of Britain's most haunted houses.

If it's entertainment you are looking for, you will find numerous events and festivals throughout the year, many based on the quayside at the historic harbour and at the prestigious Landmark Theatre on the seafront.

There are many fine and award winning beaches, from secluded coves to the wide stretches of golden sand with crashing surf. For a unique beach experience visit 'The Tunnels' in Ilfracombe, holders of a blue flag and seaside award or Hele Bay to the east of the town also award winners, for good bathing and rock pool exploring.

You will find plenty to do in and around Ilfracombe with a terrific range of activities available to suit all tastes including walking, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, horse riding, cycling, surfing, walking, sub-aqua diving or simply exploring.

A short distance by car or bus are the spectacular golden sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde Bay and Saunton Sands, a mecca for surfing and a children's paradise.

Ilfracombe is ideally situated for you to explore the spectacular coastline and the delightful moorland reaches of Exmoor with its rolling hills and quaint villages. South of Ilfracombe is Barnstaple with its famous Pannier Market and Butchers Row and a mixture of recognisable chains and independent retailers. Further South and you come to Torrington, a quaint Devon town with cream teas galore. To the west are the beautiful Hartland Peninsula and the market town of Bideford. On the coast and estuary you will find Appledore, Westward Ho! and Clovelly, one of the last feudal villages.

Words somehow cannot fully capture this natural beauty, this 'great outdoors'.

The North Devon Coast path stretched from Hartland in the West, to Lynmouth in the East and encompasses such a variety of countryside, from the mighty hogback cliffs of Great Hangman, to the sweeping golden sands and wild surf at Woolacombe, to the calmer waters of the estuary of the Taw and Torridge rivers.

The coast path between Woolacombe and Lynton with Ilfracombe at its heart is breath-taking in more ways than one. Why not base yourself in Ilfracombe, walk a section of this path each day and be at one with nature.

Ilfracombe is also perfect for a wide range of different walks using your car or public transport. North Devon offers rolling Devon countryside inland and the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) hugs the spectacular coastline to Cornwall. Along this coast you will find vast sandy beaches, impressive headlands, the International Biosphere Reserve at Braunton Burrows, quaint fishing villages and lighthouses.

In the other direction you will find one of the most beautiful and challenging National Parks, Exmoor. It is a walker's paradise.
