Strolling around the area, you’ll find an enormous variety of specialized shops where one can buy from buttons and door locks to Locally Produced Cheese Shops and second hand clothes. Athens’ central Meat Market (Varvakios) is also near by, so as Ermou street, the major pedestrian shopping axis.
Along come the bars and cafes of the area, located in small streets or around squares, like the talk-of-the-town Saint Irene Square (2 min walk from the studio) as well as new alternative entries, hidden inside the many arcades of downtown Athens.
We will be happy to share our best tips with you on restaurants to trendy bars and any kind of shops and give you an insight to the city from a local’s point of view.
We’ll be also happy to provide you with tips about travelling all around the country.
The nearest metro station is in Syntagma square where you can pick line 2 and 3. However, you’ll probably enjoy walking to any spot of interest:

- Aeropagitou pedestrian axis / Acropolis Museum - 10 min
- Plaka - 10 min

- Monastiraki - 3 min walk
If you enjoy jogging, the National Gardens are only a 2 min walk from the flat. Another alternative is the beautiful pedestrian axis of Aeropagitou, running along the Acropolis hill, 10 min walk from the studio.
If you wish to take a swim in the sea, you can use the tram from Syntagma Square and reach the seaside of Athens in about 45 min.
