We have always loved this area between Denver and Colorado Springs. The wide open space, the peaceful mesa's, the majestic view of Pikes Peak. In the summer we enjoy watching antelope occasionally we get to see a herd of 200 elk. There are white pelicans travelling through, swimming in a little lake, not to mention beautiful bluebirds, meadowlarks and hawks sitting on fence posts. As we enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful nature here I am sure you will too. We have a very dark sky where you can gaze at the unbelievable amount of stars.
This is an ideal location if you are visiting family at the Air Force Academy or attending the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur.
We are surrounded by many miles of Open Space, some of which is open to the public with bike and hiking paths.
We live on ten acres where you can throw a ball with your dog, but 3 miles from us, right off I 25, there is also a very nice dog park and a huge area of Open Space.
Garden of the gods in Colorado Springs is an unbelievable beautiful place to visit. You can just drive through, have a picnic, go on a horse ride or hike for hours. It is spectacular. Of course there is also Pikes Peak to visit where you can either take the cog rail or drive up. Many more attractions, cave of the winds, a waterfall etc.
In Castle Rock you can climb the rock, go on the zip line or challenge yourself at the endless stair climb.
