Lovely rustic, quirky cottage in a tiny hamlet. Very warm and cosy thanks to the Esse range which I was just getting good at cooking with when we had to leave, loved it as did our dogs who were happy to curl up next to it all night! Plenty other options for cooking in the cottage, the microwave combo grill was a fantastic. Lovely walks from the doorstep, especially the path that takes you from Marrick to Grinton (approx 3 miles) for lunch at the Bridge in, dogs and muddy boots are welcomed inside but there are tables outside too. The downside was the path takes you through a farmyard which has an aggressive farm dog (black lab type called Sam) who bit our dog. Slightly spoiled the walk knowing we had to come back through on our way home, thankfully he wasn’t out! Communication with Gay was 1st class, even without a phone signal! If you are looking for perfection, this is not the cottage for you! It is a beautiful old cottage with spiders, steep stairs and no straight walls or level floors, we loved it!
