The apartment is located in the ancient area of Antik, right in the old town center of Sliema.
The sea, the long promenade and the beautiful church of Balluta (situated in the bay of the same name) are all within walking distance. In the area of Antik, from which the apartment takes its name, you can still enjoy the view of the traditional Maltese houses, built with local stone and decorated with colourful balconies, a symbol of Malta worldwide. Walking along Antik area allows you to immerse yourself in the Maltese tradition which recalls the valourous deeds of the famous Knights of the Order of St. John, better known as the Knights of Malta.
The street where the apartment is located, is called in Maltese "Triq il Kullegg Antik" or in English "Old College Street". This is one of the most typical and ancient streets of Sliema as originally it was the road leading to the ancient monastery.
Please do not forget that in Malta the cars come from your right! We recommend you pay attention when you cross the street.
Official languages of the island are both English and Maltese, but the Italian language is widely understood.
The apartment is just a few steps from the promenade and from the only natural sandy beach in Sliema. It can be reached directly from the coast road called "Tower Road" that goes down the whole coast. The view is beautiful and in the evening you can enjoy an unforgettable sunset in many places in the area overlooking the sea.

Sliema is the real capital of the Maltese tourism, although one should not miss many cities that represent the culture of the island such as Valletta, Vittoriosa, Mdina etc ... but we will have time to talk about it afterwards!

The apartment has been completely refurbished recently, it is served by a lift and is located in a strategically central area.
The apartment consists of a living room, sleeping area and a bathroom as well as a small storage room and a beautiful balcony overlooking this really old and typical maltese street.
Once inside the apartment, you will feel at home. The decor is tasteful and of good quality, and there are also original pieces of furniture in Venetian style, coming from Italy.
Right at the entrance, there is an old typewriter that we love so much and that is the symbol of our job; my wife and I are journalists and we like to join our guests for an aperitif in the romantic places located in the vicinity.
The apartment is perfect for all your needs, for people who decide to spend a lovely holiday by the sea, for those who love hiking and trekking or for those who want to have a base in a central location from which to visit our beautiful island.
We decided to dedicate a large bedroom to our guests’ comfort. You can find a very spacious wardrobe with sliding doors that will allow you to place all your luggage. There is also a designer bed with a true orthopaedic base and mattress to ensure the best rest possible. In the room, you will also find a useful shoe rack and several books to read. Various collections of books, including some which are very old, are available in the apartment.
The dining room can comfortably accommodate four people, although generally the apartment is rented to couples, singles or to families with children. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances including a fridge, dishwasher, oven, toaster, microwave and a modern set of dishes which will give a sophisticated air to your lunches and dinners with friends.
Our desire is to accommodate people who may enjoy the home for a holiday or work period in Malta.

The house has white parquet flooring throughout which provides plenty of light. The bedroom and the living room are lit by the sunlight throughout the day; two large French windows lead to the balcony where you can enjoy the breeze from the nearby beach and sip a good glass of wine at sunset.
The apartment is equipped with a comfortable bathroom. The large and fitted bathtub allows guests to enjoy relaxing baths by candlelight after a day spent at the nearby beach or just to relax after a hard day’s work .
The bathroom is modern too, enriched by sophisticated elements such as bathroom fittings and essences that are frequently changed in order to make your stay more pleasent.
In the apartment you could also enjoy a big painting of Balluta Bay, purposefully chosen to remind our guests that this wonderful view can be enjoyed in person in less than five minutes walk.
All the household linen is laundered with ecological detergents, the same goes for housecleaning. Our philosophy is to respect nature and the environment while ensuring cleanliness. Respecting the environment means respecting our guests.
Another issue we care a lot about is energy saving, so the apartment has been refurbished with new appliances and lighting to reduce energy consumption.
Energy saving is not intended to save money but to respect the environment, have a healthier and coherent idea of how to use them and how to preserve them always naturally respecting our guests’ habits.
Each room of the apartment is equipped with smoke, carbon monoxide and gas detectors, as well as with a first aid kit for emergency. We believe in safety first. In the apartment you can find a manual with the emergency procedures too and the most important telephone numbers.
Safety, comfort and cleanliness are our trademarks. We are travellers too, and we love visiting places and staying in locations providing the facilities we offer.

At AntikMalta, families with children are very welcome. Free of charge for our little guests, we offer a pushchair to visit the island comfortably, plastic plates and cutlery for babies, a high chair where children can sit in an ergonomic position, children’s books and games and much more.
In the close proximity of the apartment, you can find everything. Less than 50 metres away, there is a big supermarket where you can also buy local fruits and vegetables and ask for free home delivery. In the streets that surround the apartment, you will find many kiosks and refrigerated vans selling fresh fish, bread and typical products of Malta. We suggest you buy always local products because of the incomparable smell of recently harvested fruit and the taste of freshly caught fish. On the promenade, you will find the most popular restaurants of the island.
Just across the main road, you can enjoy extraordinary fresh fish at Fresco's Restaurant or a few steps towards Balluta you can go to the chic Barracuda. If you like the real Neapolitan pizza, turning at the corner you will come across the "Pizzeria Vecchia Napoli" where you must try the calzone "Capo di Monte"!
Lovers of good food at an affordable price can visit the restaurant "Piccolo Padre" which has a special place in the hearts of all tourists, not only for the good food but also for the amazing view just a few steps away from the reef and the sea.
Those who want to have a quick lunch of typical Maltese Pastizzi should go to Pepi's ... you can come here even wearing your swimsuit directly from the beach!
Breakfast lovers will have fun; those who love Italian breakfast will certainly go to "Dolci Peccati", a cool place in Sliema (please do not forget that it is also one of the best places to have an ice cream!!!). Those who love natural cuisine or an authentic English breakfast can’t miss the U Bistrò where you will not just eat natural foods but also enjoy a unique view of Balluta Bay and of the beautiful church. Just a few steps from the apartment, you could go directly where the typical Sicilian sweets, sold in many restaurants in Malta, are produced.

For those loving nightlife or simply the hustle and bustle there is Paceville, located at walking distance from Spinola Bay. Paceville is the perfect location for discotheques, dancing, bars and movement that lasts until dawn and it is also the ideal place for young people coming to have fun in trendy bars.
A few steps from the apartment, there is the Antik bus stop. This stop is incredibly strategic because it allows you to easily reach all destinations on the island. From here, you can take all buses headed both to Valletta and to the North of the island, to discover the famous beaches of Golden bay, Ghajn Tuffieha, Paradise Bay, Ghadira Bay etc. ..
You can also book one of the nice tours to discover the amazing island of Comino with its crystal-clear sea or the island of Gozo, which is the destination for those looking for peace and meditation.
