Ampio appartamento di 6 locali in una classica fattoria di epoca greca di rinascita della guerra su 120 acri. Metti in pausa e sperimenta la confortevole vita rurale del 1800 ma con codici mod come Wi-Fi e bagni del 21 ° secolo! Cinque posti letto comodamente in tre camere da letto al piano superiore. Guest Space costituisce l'intero lato sinistro della grande fattoria. Gli extra includono griglia esterna, altalena, pozzo del fuoco, kayak in prestito. Il proprietario abita alla porta accanto e di solito in residenza e preparato con mappe e suggerimenti su cose da fare nella zona.

The perfect Covid-friendly getaway

We stayed here to spend a week with something new to look/fresh air to breathe in at after the past year. Jude and Ray were very kind and hospitable, and we were able to cook homecooked meals, hang out in the hot tub, wander the property freely, do lovely scenic drives around the area, and work from home as needed here. We had three of us working from home and although the video calls weren't perfect (as to be expected!), we were able to make it work well enough. The kitchen was fully stocked with the most amazing tea collection and pretty much any tool you might need. The whole place was cozy and the hot tub and sunroom were just gorgeous. We hope to be able to come back in the near future!

Revisiting childhood

My husband and I found the perfect place to recuperate during our break from teaching. We both love snow and global warming has robbed us the past several years of a winter experience at our home. Jude and Jay had nothing to do with the beautiful snow we had at their farm! But the property is perfect for exploring in any weather. Gorgeous acres of paths and open meadows and trees await any visitor. We snowshoed each morning and spent afternoons reading in front of the fire. There’s a lovely hot tub and wonderful kitchen and baths. Anyone who wants an arts or writing retreat would love Pie-in-the-Sky in any season. But Montpelier and St Johnsbury are lovely towns just a half hour away. Jude and Jay were helpful and available but also left us in privacy to explore our surroundings. What a wonderful time to spend in a house reminiscent of houses I grew up in! We hope to go back during summer in the not too distant future. We were entirely at home and yet so far from busyness and demands. The perfect retreat!

Beautiful farmhouse in a pastoral setting

"The Pie in the Sky" is a beautiful old farmhouse set in rolling hills north of Montpelier. The owners, Jay and Jude, have set aside half the house for guests, adding a number of luxury touches like a solarium, hot tub, and three-vent downstairs shower. They've managed to do so without letting the charm of the old rooms escape. Art and books abound inside. There's also a lovely small outside porch where we watched the sun set -- the views at the Pie and in the surrounding area are fabulous. Ducks and sheep added to the magic. The place is peaceful, high above a dirt road that doesnt boost much traffic. Despite the quiet, we found lots to do in the area, including wandering Montpelier, biking the ridge roads (had to pump our way up there of course), hiking the town forest, and appreciating the spectacular nurseries in the area -- Perennial Pleasures and the Vermont Flower Farm. The town of Plainfield is also a delight. Highly recommended; we'd love to return.

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

Site of the famous 1970s commune Pie in the Sky; a beautiful old Greek revival style farmhouse, constructed during the US Civil war and added onto in 1880s, and in 1999. Adding a new addition in 1999 with lovely sunroom and hot tub is what caused us to say: "this is too pretty not to share" and that led to the Bed & Breakfast and the Activist Retreat.

A very quiet hillside location, close to Goddard College, we are a frequent respite for students who do not chose to stay on campus, for their parents, for families during graduation weekends,& for "Discover Goddard days". We are the closest accommodation for people seeking recreation in Groton State Forest. We are across a small valley from the edge of the Marshfield Town Forest, and have our own hiking and cross-country ski trails on the land. There are sheep to feed and pet, and a very entertaining flock of ducks!
